MISSION STATEMENT FOR LIUNA LOCAL 493

LIUNA Local 493 who represents members in construction and non construction on behalf of its executive board, the membership, retirees and apprentices are committed to bringing to its members, present and future a better quality of life and a decent living wage.
Local 493 shall endeavor to organize the unorganized and increase its market share by continuing to work closely with CECOF by remaining to be politically active and to educate its members through VOICE training.
We shall be active in our apprenticeship programs and training initiatives along with the full participation of its membership.
Local 493 is committed to enforcing its collective agreements through strong representation and to bargain collectively in order to get our members a strong collective agreement and all of this we are, committed to doing in a fair and democratic manner as per the uniform local union constitution.
